MOUNT PLEASANT — A man fired his gun during a Saturday afternoon road rage incident on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, narrowly missing hitting a woman driving another car.
Mount Pleasant police arrested Elijah Maestas, 21, and charged him with attempted murder on June 9 after allegedly shooting into a woman’s vehicle around 3:45 p.m. on June 8.
The charges stem from a “road rage” incident where an unnamed victim and another female passenger “flipped each other off,” according to an arrest warrant affidavit provided to The Post and Courier on June 9. Maestas reportedly shot at the victim’s vehicle while traveling northbound on the Ravenel Bridge that connects Charleston’s peninsula to Mount Pleasant.
